People Flow Management System (“PFMS”) is an innovative technique which uses radar-sensing technology to report people flow. PFMS is co-developed by Infineon Technologies Ltd. and King City Technology Limited. Under the PFMS, 24GHz radar sensors are installed in 5 major gateways of Enterprise Place (5W), Core Building 2 (1W) and Core Building 1 (1E) that counting people pass through the door in both in and out directions. In comparison to traditional manual-based people counting solution, PFMS provides a far more accurate statistics of people flow in the specific area which can help for building management and reduce manpower cost. Moreover, real-time counting data are uploaded to the cloud-based platform for further analysis.
The collected data is stored and analyzed on an indoor management platform database. While the platform is based on the geospatial information system, it is able to conduct a variety of analyses in terms of time and spatial parameters. Another feature of the platform is that it can model the collected data and use various types of data visualization. The PFMS can be used at retailers or shopping mall for purposes such as identifying people’s shopping patterns or measuring advertising effectiveness. At venues or other facilities, it can be used to assess and improve all aspects of the facility.
